Visit the ancient site of Akrotiri, a fascinating and important archaeological site on the island of Santorini.
Dubbed the "Minoan Pompeii," the flourishing town was at once destroyed and preserved around 1450 BC by a volcanic eruption. Today it has been partially excavated and is protected from the sun under a large shed.
The settlement was one of the major cities and ports of the Aegean Sea during the Middle and Late Bronze Age (20th-17th century BC). It was a crowded city of 20 acres with a remarkable social structure, public roads, sewerage, sanitary engineering, multi storey buildings.
After visit of Akrotiri return to Fira town, where you take the cable car down to port for embarkation on tender boats to the cruise ship.

Embarkation to a private kaiki boat and sail along the famous caldera to Kameni island, which is actually an impressive volcano created about 3.500 years ago.
