Difficulty level: Not recommended for persons with mobility difficulties– Considerable walking on cobbled pathways and climbing of 120 stairs is required.
Useful info: Ladies in trousers, shorts or mini skirts, men in shorts, people with bare shoulders are not allowed to enter the monastery or grotto.For religious groups, a mass can be organized at the area in front of the Grotto.

Patmos is the sacred island where St John the Evangelist wrote the “Revelation”.
It is the most visited place all around the world, from Christians traveling for pilgrimage.

The Monastery of St John is impressive standing up on the hill, overlooking the Aegean. It is surrounded by the gleaming white houses of “Chora”, the centre of the island which is only 10 minute drive from the harbor.
Our tour ends with a visit of the nearby Grotto the place where the Apocalypse was written.
